Whenever you
start your car especially early in the morning, you should take time to note
the kind of fume/smoke coming from your tailpipe/exhaust pipe, the colour of
this smoke can speak a lot about the condition of your engine, there are
basically 3 kinds of smokes to consider
1. Bluish grey smoke- this means your engine is burning oil, the intensity of
the smoke now tells you the level of damage.
2. Whitish grey smoke- this means
your engine is burning coolant/water. Also the intensity
and length of visibility would tell how serious the case is.
3. Blackish
grey smoke- this is as a result of your engine burning excessive fuel. The
thickness of the smoke would make you know for sure, and determine how quick
your engine needs to be checked.
it is not appropriate at anytime
for your exhaust to produce any smoke except for a clear moist discharge of
CO2,. if its smoking, its calling for an expert check.
